"Family run, good home cooked food, nothing too fancy but also not expensive. Superb warm welcome and the lamb chops cooked in the restaurant on an open wood fire are delicious. Menu du jour as well as the carte. I would advise booking and my only regret about making this post is the worry of being told when phoning, “desole, complete”."

Sometimes I despair that the small, out of the way, TRUE French restaurant, at a reasonable price, is nearly extinct. This little gem has renewed my faith they still exist. For the 13 euro lunch special we had a generous first plate (a cheese chorizo brick with salad), a main dish of lamb (a blanquette with a delicious mushroom white sauce) and rice, then a cheese plate (one blue and the other local), then dessert - THE best panna cotta I've ever had. The meal even came with a 1/4 ltr. of wine! This is up there with one of the best, best priced meals we've ever had. Even the bread was good. Combine lunch at Chez Patou with a visit to the Gallo-Romaine Villa museum in Loupian for a memorable afternoon (and to walk off some of that lunch). It is a small restaurant, every table was filled during our visit, so reservations are a must. Oh...and how could I forget? The service was excellent as well.

This cosy restaurant in the small village of Loupian was highly recommended by a friend. It didn 't disappoint! We had lunch here mid-week and loved it. We were given a warm and good-humoured welcome by Madame. There was an open log fire near the entrance, used by Monsieur for cooking the huge steaks. Our 'Formule ' menu consisted of 4 courses and a quarter litre of wine per person. The starter was a 'peasants ' salad with slices of duck. Delicious. The main course was chicken in a mushroom sauce and accompanied by mashed potato. Delicious. This was followed by 2 cheeses, and completed with a crème brulee. All, again, delicious! At a cost of 14€ per head it is hard to think of any better value. Not surprisingly, with 36 'covers ' the restaurant was virtually full by 1 o 'clock. A great experience that we will repeat soon...
