We went here on a recommendation from our hotel. We speak a little french but not very much. We had been in Paris for several days and we found that when we tried to speak french, it obviously came across that it was not our native tongue, and most waiters, citizens, etc. used a little bit of english. We sat down outside and saw that the menu was all in french, not a problem. We knew a little and used a reference book to decipher what we didn't know. By this point our waiter glaringly knew we weren't french. We ordered, duck for my husband and salad for me (not much in France for a vegetarian). Our waiter kept asking us long questions in french, to which we did not know the answer, I assumed he knew no english and I felt bad we couldn't converse more. Until a few minutes later when I heard him speaking near perfect english to another table. The food came, my husband thoroughly enjoyed his duck. I would recommend the food! Then a light sprinkle came, and then a downpour. We struggled to grab our plates, glasses, purses, and everything and move to shelter under the awning. Our waiter did nothing. We were one of two tables left outside. He helped neither of us. When we sat down at another table out of the rain that was still dirty from other guests who had vacated, he simply brought us new silverware since we had abandoned ours. So if you speak french well and are willing to overlook the not so great waitstaff, the food here is great!
