I have stopped here previously for a drink so when I visited again today with my sister to show the area off to her I suggested that we have a drink in this restaurant. I ordered a hot chocolate with cream, whilst the order was not to the standard I expected as the cream had started to melt and barely came above the rim of the cup, a sip showed that the chocolate was not hot but barely warm. I pushed the cup aside and waited for the waitress to return with another drink so that I could ask her to heat up the chocolate. When the, now, chocolate was returned it had no cream and the cup was only 2/3 full. I asked where the cream was and she said that she would fetch the boss. Please bear in mind that we are talking about a €3.50 hot chocolate with cream here, not a €40 steak dinner. The owner appeared and accused me of eating the cream and said that they had heated the chocolate, as far as he was concerned end of the matter. One thing sure to make my blood boil is being accused of something that I have not done. I was informed that he had been in this business for 40 years and his wife had prepared the drink. I said that I didn't want anything and he could take the drink away and that I wouldn't pay for it. A fresh, hot, hot chocolate with cream was produced which was presented and tasted as expected, it is just a great shame that the experience left a sour after taste. I would advise my friends to try any other restaurant and I won't be giving this restaurant another chance, imagine the fight if it's a meal that is not to standard.
We were there for a last weekend of ski. Or no ... It is a nice place to choose. We were under three sun, therefore the terrace was the perfect place to be with the view on the mountain on the side. Yes it is next to a parking, but you easily forget it bcse of the warm service and nice typical local and French dish. I had the so French boudin (blood sausage) which was nicely cool and could feel was a regional made. When the cooked apple and purée.. Loved it! My family had a nice beef Angus piece, and cheese dish. They were very happy. The interior is very nice and typical with a place that sets the real mountain and regional design.. go for it!
Was there today, the 5 of us. Website link does not work menu did not show on line. Reviews are really over rating this place. Service is neutral, if not cold. Relatively fast for a holidays meal. Had a soup OK Brother in law was told that as his soup was part of a menu he could not have the Tomme cheese slice which usually comes with the a la carte. a rather mean behaviour ! Taste was OK but there 's nothing special of it.
A wonderful very traditional Haute Savoie Restaurant and bar, perfect spot at the bottom of the pistes, the hosts and Gille and Valerie are always welcoming and staff efficient and friendly. The food is excellent and hearty and of the region. Highly recommended in a hidden gem of a resort.
