Chez Fred - Reservar uma mesa

My friend and I have just come back from Carcassonne and visited Chex Fred for a meal. Being gluten intolerant we were careful about where we are, and before we booked this place came up to show it could cater for me. We had a lovely meal, sitting outside under the canopy. We both had the pork, potatos and veg, which I also got served with bread crackers, and even managed to have a pudding. The staff were great, and very helpful, with my friends French and their English we got through and had a very lovely evening. Would definitely go back

Six of us ate here on a Monday evening. We chose this place as it was close to the Midi Canal and had reasonable reviews.The waitress was friendly and helpful but the food was extremely disappointing. The servings were small although the prices high.My meal was 'spicy chicken' but was a leg of chicken cooked in a cream, mustard sauce with two tiny pieces of overcooked carrot and two equally overcooked potatoes which had been re-heated. Desert was ok but appeared to not be prepared on the premises. Not worth 25 euros.

This little restaurant is outside the medieval city and came highly recommended. It is clear that the food is freshly prepared - I went for the cassoulet, and was warned it would take half an hour to prepare, but I still feel the menu was overpriced for what was served and the choice was fairly limited. Service was also pretty brusque and I felt as if we were being rushed out the restaurant despite it being nearly empty.

We went as a family, great service, great wine great French food. I had the Foie gras and the cassoulet... both were perfect... the scallops were also really really good... it was the perfect meal on our trip to southern France.

Delicious food, loved the tuna salad and ceaser salad . Lovely family run restaurant very friendly and work so hard.
