Why accept a reservation at the hotel without informing the customer that there is no room at the restaurant? The hotel's website indicated that the restaurant was free, upon arrival, we are told that it is complete and that there are not enough staff. How is it possible not to prioritize and book places at the restaurant for hotel guests? The standard room is too small, no shower in the bathroom. INSONORISATION INEXISTANT!!!! REVEIL A 6h30 BY THE PAS (normal mark) of the neighbor of the top with noises of floor and beams of the ceiling. Service insufficient but a priori lack of staff! In short, I do not recommend this establishment and questions arise on the chaine Relais et châteaux which seems a little dated.
We enjoyed the chateau very much; we experienced the pool multiple times and found it very comfortable. The staff was exceptional, trying to help us navigate their apparent lack of personnel. We could not eat in any of the restaurants, and even the bar was off-limit one night. Since we stayed three nights, we had hoped to dine at some point in the hotel. Everyone working seemed to try their best, but we were disappointed/surprise overall for a hotel with so many stars to be unable to enjoy dining there.
Our experience was exceptional. I would like to make particular mention of Anna at d/Audrieu, who consistently saw to our every need with grace and efficiency, from initially welcoming us to the hotel, to arranging for service at the bar on more than one afternoon, to making two superb last minute dinner reservations off the property with dispatch, and answering our many questions along the way always with her signature smile and infectious laugh. Anna made our visit especially warm and welcoming.
An amazing property with the perfect combination of historical appeal and modern amenities. Getting to stay in an early 18th century French chateau was amazing. The staff are all amazingly helpful and pleasant. Food options were all fresh and local. Perfect location for Normandy trip to visit D day landing sites, Norman history, or just a French countryside retreat. I definitely want to return again.
