We walked here for coffee every morning of our holiday because the location is perfect for watching the village come to life whilst having a decent cup of coffee. Calonge is a very traditional Catalan village, not touristy in the slightest but that is what makes it charming. The murals around the walls of the square that border Cercle Calongi are amazing and worth a visit in their own right. Virginia looked after us perfectly despite our very limited Spanish and we found the prices more than reasonable. We also spent two evenings there having tapas, beer and sangria and both times we found the food to be excellent in taste and presentation; we did not find it overpriced in the slightest and, again, the service from Virginia was perfect (the woman is a machine, she is there morning, noon and night and always welcoming and cheerful . We have tried other places in Calonge for coffee in our numerous visits but this is by far the best as it is not pretentious, feels authentic and our language limitations were not a problem or an annoyance to the staff (if they were they did a good job of not letting on! . Oh, and Virginia introduced us to the non-alcoholic drink Horchata.
