michelin played in a burg eating is a rare experience and I was happy enough to visit in the frame of a gastronomy visit in emporda. the ground floor of the castle is a casino (apparently unique) and they climb the stairs into the...First floor restaurant, which is a delightful and luxurious environment. the dinner menu is a 14-course tasting menu and certificates for all nutritional questions. eating is in the whole class, every cure beautifully presented and with beautiful aromas and textures. it begins with a tasting of brot with four different local olive oils and goes from strength to strength. every cure is carefully prepared and described, but the highlight is the artisan and fermier cheese car probably the biggest selection I ever encountered (I made it 65 in all). this is the passion of general manager toni gerez (formerly of el bulli), who explains that they usually have about 300 cheeses on camp! accompanied by seven weeps from the Peralada firm series was the grinding time the unchallenged highlight of our trip and if I am in the opposite, I would make a point of return. pretty great.
the restaurant has a dining room not very large but with distance between the tables quite correct. we order the tasting menu with pairing. the start of this menu is a tasting of 4 oils, all very powerful and good. Then, the incoming simulate a vermut, a profiterol of black olives and a spoon of berbet with white vermut. the very tasty and surprising profiterol and a very good chicken crisp. I will not describe all the dishes, but I will say that the ones that most dripped us were: the red shrimp head suquet with creus cap shrimp. Delicious and very intense flavor. hedgehog with truffle. much drop to sea and very good. the golden one. the cheese table. the second dessert, with chocolate, very good, the first with orange soup, too bitter, we didn't like it. Els petits fours,tampoco. the wine pairing is complete and you don't lack any drink at any time. We are very satisfied. the service is professional, attentive, class without being close, taking into account all the details.
The La Parilla Buffet at Peralada has been a highlight of our summer for a number of years. This year however it failed entirely to meet expectation. The outdoor dining experience under the stars with the castle backdrop was non existent. This year the buffet...was housed in a new semi-permanent structure completely devoid of any style, atmosphere or view. The buffet selection seemed much less than previous years. Only carbonated drinks were available for children, our 12 year old grand-daughter could only drink water all night. Our particular waitress was brusque and unfriendly, and it took 3 attempts to get our bill right, she got angrier and angrier each time, so no tip.
