Casa Mendelssohn Fine Dining

I wanted to spend a nice New Year's Eve together with my guests and therefore made a written reservation request for the New Year's Eve menu of Casa Mendelssohn. I immediately received a written confirmation. On December 31, I informed the restaurant that we came slightly later, as I had to pick up my guests at the airport. We came to the restaurant instead of 19:00 at 19:10. There the owner received us in front of the restaurant and told us that he was sorry, but the restaurant was already full and he could not let us in. You would have accepted more reservations than places available. So we stood at Sylvester on the street without adequate evasiveness, because on such a day, of course, all good restaurants are already booked. For me very annoying and embarrassing to my guests, I had not experienced this until then. The restaurant owner has accepted more reservations for the New Year's Eve than were available, cheaply accepting that guests are not allowed to enter this day despite confirmed reservations and then are on the street without an alternative. For me such behavior is perfide and not tolerable. In addition, a breach of contract in legal terms. That's why I don't recommend this restaurant.

The Mendelssohn is an Italian restaurant opposite the Alte Kurpark for higher standards and also for a higher price. I know the food was the owner and then it was good. The new owner should have a better taste, I can't say anything about it. In the somme I love the terrace, in winter the inner surface is also beautifully warm and Mediterranean.
