Campanile Evreux

We arrived on a Saturday night having driven 600km that day so were hoping for a decent meal and a bottle of wine nothing too grandiose! Upon arrival at the restaurant, we were told that due to a sportive the next day it would be complicated to have the three of us there too while a bunch of triathletes carb loaded. However after a bit of huffing and puffing we were shown to a table jammed in the corner by the entrance, and at this point things started looking up. The staff, although busy, were very friendly and helpful, and our glasses of cognac at the end were suspiciously full. The menu is fairly standard cosmopolitan stuff (steak frites, burger, pizza, a couple of French dishes and a menu enfant) and I suspect that only the final preparation and cooking is done on site. But we enjoyed the entree and dessert buffets, my daughter monstered her children 's meal, and my husband said the rib eye was a lovely bit of steak. My pizza came covered in salmon, definitely not what I ordered and they knew it, but they resolved the problem really quickly. All in all, we got our wish! As we were staying at La Pause (only 500m down the road) we also got 15% off.

Just enjoyed our second meal in this restaurant. If the first had not been good there would not have been a second. Our first visit however we over indulged on the Starters, we were weak willed and unable to resist. It was all so tempting and good. We had a laugh with the staff, who are extremely nice, and just managed a taste or two of the Sweets selection. On our second visit we were better behaved and more controlled, and actually enjoyed all three courses.

We arrived late, so there was a reduced choice of menu. However the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Apart from needing to till up we were not rushed and really enjoyed our food and drinks. Definitely would revisit.

Restaurant isn 't so good... We 're very sorry 'cause rooms are confortable! Prices are equal than in Paris, 80km far away!

Good menu choice for a budget hotel, breakfast buffet was excellent with great choice. Staff very courteous and friendly.
