To me, this is the cosiest cafe in Europe. You can't define nor rate coziness if you haven't experienced this first. It brings you back to the old days, when things seem to have been done... with time. The quality of its pastries is a proof of things done with extraordinary passion, hence, care. And the friendliness of its staff a proof of how hospitality is gene determined; a gene I lack but others own in abundance, such as the staff of this place. I still can't believe somebody wrote they were unfriendly. Impossible. Believe me. Above all that, the cafe has the most inspiring collection of old coffee grinders ever! Every one of them will bring you back in time, all together, neatly displayed throughout the place, they'll make you feel warm, welcome, at home. Highly needed in Daun because although it does have some charm, charisma and charm is not abundant in Daun. Therefore it's a must if you visit this town. In fact you should visit Daun in order to go to Cafe Schuler. I love the linzensoep and ALL the pastries especially the apple strudel with vanilla sauce.Enjoy!!!

We stopped here for coffee our first morning in Daun. The café is filled with coffee memorabilia (mills etc), and some fantastic old furniture in the back room. It is light and airy, with plenty space between the tables. Toilets are upstairs. The staff didn't seem to have much English, and we have zero German, but they were helpful and we managed to order coffee. It was delicious. I don't know how we managed to resist the cakes which looked excellent. Two hours later we went back for alight lunch. I had the local potato and bacon soup, my husband had a salad. They were lovely, the only problem was that they were so filling we had no room for cake.A lovely café, well worth a visit.

Daun does not offer much. This place seemed to be popular, since it was full. Average but familiar (not fast) food. Price vs quality Ok. Service not very friendly. But we were starving thus it was Ok...
