Cafe San Remo - Reservar uma mesa

We alway love going for a walk at the Lido and then stop for coffe and something to eat in the cafe. More in the summer as the weather is better so we can sit outside as we have a dog. Today we decide to go for a walk with our dog and just get a coffee on the go as it’s freezing outside. With our surprise now they have an area inside that it’s dog friendly so decided to have something to eat as well. Well done Carmine and Eleonora, a great addition to your café. The only disappointment is that people without dog sits in the dog friendly area despite being free tables in the other area

Lovely location and it ends there. The hot food is abysmal. I ordered a pizza, thinking that the Italian name and owner would stand for something. I'm afraid not. I took one look at the pizza swimming in oil on the plate and left it. The coffees were equally bad. The milk was scorched and the coffees so hot that 15min later they were still to hot to drink. Needless to say, I decided to go eat somewhere else. Definitely do not recommend.

I also witnessed the manager bullying staff. Honestly reminded me of Joe Pesci going off on one in one of the mobster movies. Food is standard cafe fair. Portion size is healthy, although I can see why people its small. Definitely a great location, right by the inland beach, mini railway stop and toilets.

The manic and unapologetic cook was unable to make a proper Greek salad (it was listed on the board)and it took 30 minutes to come. No feta. Very few in the cafe so not busy. The charming young lady on the till coped very well in the dire circumstances, offering free coffee.

The food was excellent, however, it was very annoying that the servers started clearing our table before we had all finished eating. This a very basic thing that Staff should be aware of.
