Cafe Melusine - Reservar uma mesa

This is a typical Jack-of-all-trades modern bistro-type French cafe. It's great for a morning coffee, good for lunch, afternoon refreshments, or evening drinks.It's under new ownership, and Louis is a great barman. The food menu is limited, but everything is tasty, if a little more expensive than other places around. But what makes this place is the ambiance. It's as popular with the local French community as it is with the local ex-pats, and in it's great location in Vouvant - a tourist-magnet as well.PS, it's also a Cafe-Tabac, so smokers like me can stock up with fags if you've run out!

We were surprised to find this cafe open as all info on-line had said it would be closed. It is closed on Thursdays! We went elsewhere for lunch and came to Vouvant for a look around so we just had a coffee here.The menu looked OK and it has a lovely position close to the tower. We'll try eating another time.

Despite the lack of loos (you have to cross the road), this is a very friendly and welcoming café-bar. For a small fee, they give you the key to the Melusine Tower, from which their is a wonderful view of the village and surrounding area.

Relax and enjoy a glass on crisp white wine in the terrace area outside. The menu is limited, but fine for a lunchtime snack. Some evenings if you book ahead they serve particularly good steak. Well worth a visit.

Went to Vouvant to view properties in the area so called here for lunch. No menu was available but owner informed us of what was on offer. Food was good but slightly expensive for lunch.
