Cafe Kiess & Krause

After our arrival in Celle by train we went from the train station to the center of the old town and the first place we entered, we saw this typical German confectionery with a shop selling baked goods and cakes on the left and with seating... area on the right and on the first floor with a view of the square. The interior was beautifully modernized with a trumpet-l'oeil painting on the back wall and modern lettering on the side wall, as shown on its website. The selection of sweet cakes and pastries is overwhelming as a good pastry stands and they also serve a good coffee and tea. You can also eat lunch here with a variety of bread rolls, sandwiches etc. In summer they also have an outdoor terrace and it is directly on the square where the old town can be found with the many old houses. There are many places to have a coffee in Celle, but this is certainly a good one of them.

Growing up in Celle, this was always a popular downtown cake and coffee break. On our short trip we only had time to pick up some strawberry cake and tree cake tips for a meeting with old family friends later in the afternoon, but... it was so delicious as I remembered it was so many years ago! For the Americans who expect an explosion of sweet, European cakes are more about taste and less about sugar that are covered in blacksmiths, so fit your expectations accordingly. ;

Nice place in the middle of Celle and close to the castle. Coffe ok, but nothing special. We were especially attracted by the cakes that look good but taste cheap. No wifi.

Hier kann man in sehr gemütlicher Atmosphäre sehr leckeren Kuchen (vielf verschiedene Sorten) essen. Am besten schmeckte mir die heiße Schokolade mit Sahne.

We thought 11’s and had two slices of strawberry cake and coffee. Perfect for 10 €. The location on the square with tables outside is very pleasant.
