Cafe Del Puerto

Oh dear ... Sadly we were one of 12% of tables who have food here who were disappointed. That's 12 tables in a 100 !! P P So it all started very well. Ordered a bottle if house white. A starter of Garlic bread and chicken wings to share. The service was really good decanting our wine etc. Then came the mains. I had a special of fish, on their recommendation. It was ok although the salad was limp and generally it lacked any flavour and was dry. I had asked for the main bones to be removed, they didn't. The potatoes were stone cold and dry as were the potatoes on the other main. Salmon steak with a burnaise sauce. Stone cold potatoes and the sauce was a small dish with hard garlic butter in it pretending to be a the sauce. The meals went back and returned 5 mins later with the potatoes slightly warmer and the sauce now resembling curdled butter which is what it was. So not very good at all. Avoid don't be in that 12

We ate here twice during our seven day stay in Playa Blanca. Plenty of choice on the menu and a really nice setting right next to the harbour's edge. First visit: Chicken burger, beef burger and steak. Second visit: vegetable paella for two and beef burger. Both times our food was freshly cooked, came to us piping hot and well presented. On our second visit there was a live singer which was nice. Special shout out to Ernesto who looked after us well both times (attentive but not in your face service) and had a bit of bantz with our teenage son. We found the restaurant to be very good value for money and would visit again.
