Cafe De La Place

Cafe de la Place is in a lovely little spot in Talloires there's no view of le lac, but it is very relaxed and friendly, with a local vibe. We had no reservation for a Saturday night, but were accommodated on the side terrace, which was pleasant as it caught some rays from the descending sun. We had a great waiter fun, friendly and attentive. The burrata to start was delicious a great sharing dish. I had the beef cassoulet, which was flavoursome and sizeable, but the meat felt like it had not been cooked long enough to soften the fatty bits (my only criticism! . The apple tart to finish was super. All in all, a lovely experience definitely one to try!

Lured by the positive reviews and limited local options we visited for dinner. Waited an age and then waiter came for drinks order, I reached for wine list and this clearly was too slow as he left without taking an order and did not return for another 15 mins. The entrecôte steak was poor, cold chips a disappointment. The Beef Anglaise was fatty and in part inedible. Cold chips too. Left at earliest opportunity. Had a reasonable breakfast earlier in the week though.

Called into this lovely find last week whilst visiting the beautiful village of Talloires. What a find, a real gem. Local people were meeting and eating there which is always a good sign. The lady who served us was really friendly and helpful, and helped us choose our wine (which was really tasteful and refreshing). Shared a charcuterie, with a couple of glasses of white wine. A wonderful lunchtime visit

It was a family dinner, a very charming place. Friendly staff and excellent food. The work of the kitchen team was appreciated, especially the young chef. It's a great place to come back for dinner

Fabulous french restaurant with.great choice of food. Steak and fish were perfect, starters varied and copious and desserts delicious. Came last year and had to come back for more!
