When we were in Zell am Mosel, we wanted to have coffee in the afternoon. In the beautiful summer weather there was only one place in the sun. When we walked along Moselstraße, we saw that beautiful places were free in this café, with a view directly to the Mosel. We studied the maps. There was an ice map, along with a few more ice cups on a chalkboard. My look fell on the ice cup “Black Katz”. The “Wappentier” of Zell an der Mosel – the black cat of a winemaker has allegedly guarded his best wine barrel. This black cat can be found everywhere in cell. I asked what the ice cup would contain. “ice, cream, fruit, liqueur” was the very general description. I ordered him and surprised me. A good decision. I received a large, delicious ice cup with all the ingredients mentioned. He was funny and decorated accordingly. That's all I want to tell you. I made him taste. My companion also had his ice cup with nuts. The coffee that was ordered to the ice was neat. The prices were average. The friendly services and the clean toilets that were right behind the entrance door from the Moselle side were suitable for a successful visit. We can recommend a visit to anyone who visits the cell and passes it.
