went for a business dinner at this super atmosphere location next to the impressive burg, now a youth hostel, with a great view over heppenheim and further afield. we sat outside to appreciate this view until it became a hauch cool. inside it was a bit. hard and ready. easy to eat, but authentic carving, chips and salat. greasy but delicious. I also liked the offer of beer. the disappointing aspekt was the service, unmiling and even a touch disorder. surprisingly, since our group in the evening brought a good piece of business into the pub if otherwise it would have been empty. overall ok, but some investment in environment and service would not go amiss.

We sat outside appreciating this view until it became a touch chilly. Inside it was a bit...rough and ready. Simple food but authentic schnitzel, chips and salad. Greasy but tasty. I liked the range of beers too. The disappointing aspect was the service, unsmiling and even a touch rude. Surprising since our group brought a good bit of business to the pub on an evening when otherwise it would have been empty. Overall ok but some investment in surroundings and service wouldn't go amiss.

I had to visit this biergarten since I love Heppenheim and enjoy visiting the castle. The biergarten is right next to the castle. There is outdoor seating. There are some tables that have a great view. Parking is down the hill with a walk up...toward the castle but you drive part way up to the castle to a parking lot. We enjoyed the local Heppenheim wine. We only had an appetizer with our wine but there is a full menu. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday.
