Brasserie 1806

Wanted an elegant and sophisticated lunch with some traditional German style. I found it here at Brasserie 1806 (It took me a little while to find it until I realised it was inside the Breidenbacher Hof - upstairs). It is definitely elegant in its style and decor, maybe too staid for me, but that was probably as much down to me dining sole than anything else. Exquisite and delicate food comes at a price too - a little more damaging on the pocket than the average Dusseldorf restaurant - but I was treating myself. Well worth the experience and will live long in the memory vaults.

Visited the restaurant by chance. Walked in, quite early, few customers. So I could have all the attention I wanted. Service staff made sure I log into WIFI correctly. Ordered a lobster curry soup and ribs. Like the flavour of the soup very much. The ribs were tasty and soft. Usually I find ribs in the US is the best but this restaurant got it right in taste and texture. Enjoyable. I was eating alone so the staff brought me newspapers in case I was bored. Very glad with the visit!!

we had dinner with friends last week while in Dusseldorf.the restaurant offers a great atmosphere right in the centre of the CBD. Food however is not impressive, both in term of presentation and selection available. service has been a bit "too cold", to the point of becoming almost unpleasant during the course of the dinner.

Exceptional service, great good and beautiful location and the best waiters!!! We have been to lots of restaurants in Germany, such attentive and professional waiters are very rare. highly recommended, we will be back.

We had breakfast in the restaurant, very nice atmosphere and furniture is luxurious. Food is very delicious with many varieties. Staff are exceptional.
