Boiteabebert - Reservar uma mesa

We stopped for lunch here on a beautiful sunny day. The owner and his wife welcomed us warmly and we sat outside on the restaurant 's terrace. Before we ordered the 14,50€ menu Madame brought us some tapenade on toast to go with the excellent half litre carafe of local white wine. It was good value at 7€, so we had another one! The good sized home made quiche melted in our mouths. The piece de resistance was the main course a succulent 'daube ' beef casserole with fresh tagliatelle. It was a huge portion but we were determined to finish it so we had a carafe of excellent rose (both wines were from the local Cave Saint Martin) to wash it down. All we could manage for dessert was ice cream. We had intended to leave straight after lunch but couldn 't tear ourselves away. Coffee and some more wine helped us along. The service, food and drink had been fantastic. No wonder the restaurant was full by about 12.30. Great value for money and a real 'buzz ' of conversation added to the atmosphere. We left at 4 o 'clock and will be going back very soon.

Have a good time here. In summer or shiny day it will be full. You need reservation. This restaurant location is facing the port of port vendres. They served tapas, some seafood plate also, but what I always take it's menu of the day. Because its fresh, change everyday. My favorite beverages here is the sangria wine home made, and its very good. Tuna tartar sauce there is excellent. You'll never regret it.

Arrived quite late on Sat evening, Port Vendres exceeding busy due to local fête fireworks, so just glad to get a seat really. Unpretentious, workmanlike bar/restaurant with quite a trade in take-aways. Very reasonable bavette fritês/paella, pitcher of local white, bottle of Collioure red, pression mineral water, 40 euros wham bang thank you ma'am. Don't expect haute cuisine and you won't be disappointed.

This small tapas restaurant on the quai surprised us with its quality and reasonable prices. We plan to return for another tasty, light meal.

We had a very nice lunch 3 courses for 16.50€ the young waitress is charming smiley. Fab day out for the vide grenier see you next time!
