Stopped for a meal at the top of the Rofan Cable car. Unlike our other experiences in this area, we found the man serving us to be lacking in empathy with two non German speakers. He made little effort to help us understand the menu. The food we did get took ages to come. We had finished our drinks by then. What we got was not what we expected but was actually very tasty. One thing that we found disturbing was the arrival of two men whom we think had been out hunting. One carried a rather fierce looking rifle. Think it was a scope on it that made it look more than just a hunting weapon. He also had a dead animal hanging out of his pack. In view of recent events about shootings in public places, we felt it was inappropriate to allow a weapon to be so obviously displayed in a restaurant catering for tourists and families.
we visited this cabin last sunday april 30 and the place was packed with people. perfect blue sky 2 ft of snow all around and sunny as can be. The owners did not expect this many guests and ran around like idiots but the dishes onlt took about 20 min and waiting 20 in the sun..is no crime. good place to visit and also good spot to take lunch after some hiking in a very nice mountain range,,,(not for us this visit since walking was not possible to the amount of snow; we haven see this much snow here in the last 7 years we are comming here!
on the first day of our holiday we were happy after a strenuous hike on a cool rafter. because the alm looked very welcoming, we decided to do this. we were immediately served very friendly by a dame. our food - a few sausages and cheese cookies - was very delicious. all highly recommended in all :)
only 2 min. away from the mountain station of the rofanbahn, the alm convinces with its good eating and self-made syrup drinks. you sit great in the sun, there are also large umbrellas but unfortunately no wlan. you have a good look at the airrofan glider and the mountain siuette.
