Bar Restaurante Amarca

Awful food dry and greasy if you can make food taste that bad, paraffin oil taste and burned and awful service by the owner I assume, who insulted my father in law and myself because we asked if the payment button on the card machine was the right button as we had to put in our pin number. It was dark I would never insult customers like that. I'm sure he hates holiday makers and non Canarian people. Totally unacceptable. I never leave a review but this was bad and upsetting.

This is a true chiringuito, restaurant on the beach, and the seafood is the best in the area. If you want fish and shellfish prepared with love and care by a local couple in the best Canarian tradition, this is the place to come. I say this as someone who lives right around the corner and have tried the other restaurants in the area. Certainly the best in Icod/San Marcos, and far better than some of the better known restaurants in Puerto and environs.

We were given a table on the patio overlooking San Marcos beach where we were delighted to be able to hear the sound of the waves. Our food was freshly cooked and tasty, served by the lovely owners. . Topping a really enjoyable evening was the live music with people dancing and singing along. Not too loud it made for a friendly, happy atmosphere. Will definately be back.

Lovely setting overlooking San Maros beach looking out to see with such shear rugged cliffs on one side where the waves crash against the rocks. Amarca is quite a small restaurant but very friendly and competitively priced with a large beer at just €2.50, well worth finding and enjoy the surroundings.

Went here on our trip to San Marcos, its a lovely little spot to sit and watch the sea. Food was very good and reasonably priced too. We will be back.
