Bar Restaurant La Galoche

Food was OK, definitely no better. NB. Cash only, but we all know why that happens, don't we...? However the owner couple (English/French) are unbelievably unsuited to working in hospitality. Thankfully the wife seems to now be away in the kitchen and unable to contribute to the unpleasant front of house, as she has done so well in the past, leaving the duty of unpleasantness to her English husband. Over three years our family and friends have tried here, because it is so convenient to the swimming river, but each time we have been met by one of the two patrons latest rude or patronising jibe. Also they are equal-opportunity bags of nastiness, being rude to children and adults alike. If you can't provide a hospitable environment, and you are trying to work in hospitality, I think there may be a flaw in your plans. Be nice, create a welcoming environment, leave a positive impression... surely that can't be too difficult unless you really are very unpleasant people? I am realising that this may indeed be the problem.

Really nice little place, red parasols, on the edge of the Viaduct, little sound of waterfall to accompany a simple but very very fresh meal, served with a smile at a really reasonable price, magical little place in this beautiful village of Laguepie. Great view of the river, the Gin Tonic wasn't bad either.
