Bar L'Ovalie - Reservar uma mesa

After walking round this small and lovely quaint French town, we stopped at Bar L'Ovalie for what was going to be a quick coffee/tea, but the menu was appetising and the location was superb, the sun was still shining and we were not in a rush. So we treated ourselves to some food. Good large portions and we really should have split the meal between ourselves rather than have a meal each. Food was reasonable, but nothing brilliant. Good service for a busy time of day and we were not rushed to settle up and leave after eating/drinking. FOr a riverside view and somewhere to eat/drink, you could do a lot worse!

The bridge to the other side of the town was still closed for renovation works so this side of the river was quiet, which was quite nice. It was one of the first lovely days of the year, clear skies and warm, so it was good to be able to sit on their terrace overlooking the river and have a leisurely lunch. Good, properly cooked omelettes, fries and salad, nice service. Note that they don't take cards.

We were after a snack and drink between lunch and dinner service,after kayaking along the Vezere and Bar L'Ovalie was perfect. A very welcoming and accommodating waitress served us lovely Croque Madames and salad followed by a huge ice-cream. Just what we needed!

For lunch after the local market this casual cafe was just right to rest n replenish. Omelettes were very substantial, the croc canard yummy n salads fresh. The ile flottante also hit the spot.

This was definitely a good choice to stop and have lunch. The terrace setting is beautiful overlooking the Vézère river. Excellent prices and service. Simple and nice!
