The two guys who run this place have managed to appeal to both locals and tourists. As a result, they are busy year round and it is always worth booking. I have been on many occasions and always describe it as reliable and well-priced. The basic menu at 24E offers a good range of starters, mains and desserts. Starters and desserts are nearly always cold and beautifully presented in glassware. My only criticism is their attitude to the delightful cheeseboard should you choose cheese as your dessert (or if you go for the next menu where cheese is included). It states clearly that you can only choose 3 cheeses and I don't quite understand why as a waiter serves you the cheese - it is not like the old routier restaurants where the cheeseboard was simply left on the table until you'd had enough. I would much prefer to have the choice of 4 or 5 tiny tastes of different cheeses - particularly if there are some that I don't know, than to have to stick to 3. So, if you're really into your cheeses, it makes much more sense to head for Papillon in St Jean de Bruel which isn't so far away.Away from the reliable menue, the location is stunning overlooking the Lac du Salagou and has been extremely well enlarged in recent years to make sure that as many diners as possible can see the lake. In addition, you can take your coffee on the edge of the dining area, in comfort but in the shade with unimpeded views of the lake. Although in the winter, the dining area is much smaller and less outside it still makes the most of its amazing setting. The staff are professional, friendly and efficient. It's altogether a good place to go but you never forget that this is business, no-one is trying to make you feel any more valued as a customer than the price you pay at the end of the meal.
