"This restaurant and the maitre d/chef restored our faith in French cuisine after some fairly average meals in the previous few days. Beautifully subtle flavours, finely matched local wine and attentive service. If you are near Lyon or Dijon or travelling in the area, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit."

We visited this cheerful restaurant for lunch without a reservation, and we were lucky to get in. By 1pm, it was full. ( Partly because a bicycle club of 35+ came in just after us, with reservations.). We were treated like old friends by the husband and wife who recently took over. He went over his menu in great detail, helped us choose a bottle good local Beaujolais (Fleurie I think). My husband had the lunch menu, a great bargain for 15 euros: mixed salad, red trout in a light sauce with rice and asparagus, frommage blanc, a piece of strawberry tart, and a cafe. Almost everyone around us was having the same menu. To be different, I chose the menu at 29 euros, which had a number of choices for each of 3 courses. I had a more elaborate mixed salad, fresh local fish with potatoes gratin and asparagus, and a strawberry vacherin with meringue crust. We were both pleased not only with the quality and bargain prices, but especially with the attentive friendly service (I can't believe the bicyclists were served so promptly while the rest of us had such good service too!)Our only big disappointment came a few days later, when we arrived for a final lunch before leaving the area, only to discover that the Auberge is closed Wednesday's.

We stopped here for lunch after visiting and tasting wine at the nearby Chateau de Corcelles. Snails were very tasty appetizer, cooked perfectly and swimming in garlic butter and herbs. The plat du jour was roasted chicken with vegetables and it was wonderful. Of course the wine selection was extensive. Everything that went by our table looked deliciuous, especially the dessert tray (while we wished we weren't getting the plat du jour dessert). The small, simple dining room was full, including one table with a large dog underneath. The service was very good, but as the menu says, "good food requires patience." It was a relaxed extended lunch, and we knew we would require very little for dinner! I would have loved to return if we were staying in the area.

This is a very good restaurant. I think the evening menus are 27E or 32 E. The latter included both foie gras and sweetbreads when we ere last there! Although there are cheaper restaurants in the area, the quality of the food is quite outstanding and represents excellent value. There are several local wines starting at 17E a bottle, or try a pichet of good Beaujolais Villages at 7E.This place has a very good reputation in the area. It is quality dining at an affordable price. If you stay at the Relais des Dix Crus next door (a small Logis de France with no restaurant and charges no more than a B&B) you have a brilliant, inexpensive foodie stopover

This is a great place in a small town! The service is very good and the food too. The menu is limited, but for good reason - using what appears to be mostly local produce and doing it very well. The quality exceeds expectation - and even more so given the location. Well worth a visit - good food, good service and good wine - in Beaujolais - what more could one want!
