Ardshiel - Reservar uma mesa

We stayed at the Ardshiel for a few days but found what is a lovely hotel in a great location was let down by a few issues. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the food was also very good with excellent service. The negatives relate to the room. Firstly the TV occupied most of the desk area and ought to have been wall mounted out of the way. Next it was extremely hot in the room and no fan was available so I had to buy my own to be comfortable. Finally the bathroom had no hanging provision so all clothing had to be piled on the floor, and the wash hand basin was the smallest I have ever seen plus coupled with a large waterfall tap led to puddles on the floor at every use. It's a pity such easy fixes spoil an otherwise nice hotel.

Given that the Ardshiel is an institution in Campbeltown we were excited to stay but other than the whisky bar (incredible selection with very fair pricing) we were underwhelmed by the food, service and especially the rooms (renovated, but to the bare minimum standards with very uncomfortable beds). In the end if we'd gotten some cheer or a smile from at least one staff member that could have helped us to overlook the lackluster food and rooms, but everyone was so stiff and dour that we were relieved to only be staying one night. Summary: amazing whisky selection but recommended to eat and sleep elsewhere.

Our first time at the Ardshiel, we stayed two nights and I would highly recommend it. The food was outstanding had the venison ragu one night and the ribs the next and both were excellent. The whisky bar is amazing, so many exceptional bottles. The staff I found to be friendly and accommodating, willing to go out of their way help. The rooms were nice, bathrooms are nicely updated. Combined with the Springbank tour and Cadenhead warehouse tasting a great first stop on our Vacation.

Only ate there but went back as liked it so much first night! FAB menu at excellent prices. Comfortable atmosphere. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend. Looks much better inside than it might appear from outside...don't be put off Food drinks: Excellent choice and prices Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great value

We were only at the restaurant. Great! We had great dinners. Starter, mains and desserts were very delicious. Food drinks: Great meals, beers, and single malts! Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic
