Amorino - Reservar uma mesa

I am extremely embarrassed to have hosted a business dinner here during the annual reinsurance conference.Whilst I appreciate the restaurant is relatively new ( previously the Stahlbad) , the menu bore almost no resemblance to the internet menu shown when I booked it a month or two previously ; the wine list was totally inadequate for a business dinner with only 5 choices of white and 5 red wines and a level of service amongst the poorest I have experienced in almost 30 years of business diningIt took half an hour to take our order, another 10 minutes to bring our wine - unfortunately without a corkscrew or glasses - so we had to sit drinking water and eating fairly tasteless bread until a member of my party had the presence of mind to go and fetch some glasses and borrow a corkscrew so we could open the wine ourselves, much to the amusement of fellow diners who were having a similar experience. When the food finally came, the soup was lukewarm (but tasty) ; the chicken main course under-cooked along with the pumpkin accompaniment. The food was otherwise passable but not memorable but throughout this entire sad saga, the surliness of the head waitress quite unacceptable. A younger waiter did his best but was clearly overwhelmed and unsupported by his superiors. It was clear to all that they were understaffed and disorganised but rather than accept this graciously, they chose to ignore the complaints completely and the evening culminated in a grand finale of the waitress dropping the plates and my credit card on the floor as she tried to clear the table in one go , presumably to save time.I will never return to this restaurant, the locals on the table next to us stated the same sentiment so unless the management change their attitude, I cannot see this business surviving

Amorino was never a suitable succesor to the Stahlbad. It finally closed last year. New owners re-opened in April 2016 under the wellknown name of Stahlbad to continue the tradition of the restaurant long establed for many years in this city. It remains to be...More
