Alte Gutsschanke

We ducked into Alte Gutsschanke for a nice glass of Riesling and to try their Rieslingkäse, or Riesling cheese. Our server seemed like the owner, a very nice woman who seemed to appreciate my beginner German when I ordered for my husband and I. She...was kind enough to explain how the locals eat Rieslingkäse...you butter a piece of bread, then dip the bread in the soup and cheese. It was amazingly good! The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. It was an excellent place to stop for a break from sightseeing and just enjoy something authentic.

When you leave the tourist traps at the Moselle, this is the place for good cheese, ham, bread and wine. Genuine German for adults looking for authentic local food. Guiness has a place in Ireland, but not in the Moselvalley...

This is a really cosy little cellar with a great old fashioned atmosphere. Selection of excellent Mosel wines are great prices. Didn't eat here but the dishes coming out the kitchen looked great.

Atmospheric place to enjoy wine-tasting of local wines, from their own vineyard. Cellar is situated on the road uptown to the castle. You can also have small snacks, and different platters.

What a beautiful place! Traditional and cosy wine cellars sell their own wine. Food only cold plates, cheese plates, etc. atmosphere was nice, super friendly staff. 100% recommended!
