We were recommended this restaurant and had high expectations as well as were looking forward to the lobster. In fairness we did arrive near closing after a long day of travelling. Instead of telling us there was a limited menu due to the hour, we ordered the seafood bucket and were told later that the chef was "too tired" to make it because he was working all day. They wouldn't do a single lobster either so on the third try the waitress accepted our order. The portions were small and expensive. The chowder was great and I actually wish that was all I ordered but instead paid a high price for an overall average meal.

We stopped in Alma on the way to Hopewell Rocks for a bite to eat. We chose Alma Boathouse as it claimed to have the best seafood chowder in the maritimes. Well they were not wrong, the chowder was superb, full of seafood and it had a great taste. I have to mention the toast which was served with the chowder. It was covered with an awesome lobster butter, I would have happily just eaten this it was that good. My wife had a lobster roll which was also excellent and not covered in seafood sauce which sometimes seems to happen. It's a pity I will not get the chance to go back this trip.

We stopped in Alma en route from St Johns to Moncton. We checked out a few of the local restaurants and opted for this one. We are very glad we did. The chowder was out of this world, the 1 piece of haddock and fries was superb (glad we did not order 2 pieces). Our waitress Leeann (hope I got her name right!!) was great fun and obliging. Highly recommend.

We were late getting to the restaurant with hungry, unruly kids and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Price was ok, and food was quite good. Chowder was very tasty!
