Alemannenhof - Reservar uma mesa

We arrived at what looks like a nice place to enjoy a drink and stare out into the beautiful lake and surroundings. We arrived just before 6 on a Saturday which is the evening opening time. Sitting outside, we were "greeted" by a waitress that just asked for our order and disappeared inside. The drinks eventually come but no menu, no questions whether we wanted to eat. So we decided to go inside and ask for a table. The waitress proceeded to make it difficult without a reservation but managed to find us a table. The inside decoration has a chalet feel which is nice and cozy. However when the menu came, we were surprised by the prices. Assuming the food would be excellent as per the 4* rating and the prices, we really looked forward to our dinner. However we were disappointed with what arrived. The portions were very small. My rabbit was dry and my partner's pork was still uncooked. We received our meals before the wine arrived and when it did, it was kept at a distance (held at the cash register). Needless to say we were disappointed with our experience of what is sold as a very high level restaurant at high prices.

We had a very good stay at Hotel Alemannenhof but can only recommend the Hotel with the odd proviso! Most importantly, make sure you specify EXACTLY what room you will get as not all rooms have been renovated. Those that have been are truly nice, those that aren't truly are NOT!!! Please note that the price of the room is in no way indicative of the state of the room. The Restaurant is fine and the service is very good and child-friendly. The most attractive feature is the hotel's position right on the lake Titisee which is enviable and worthwhile during the summer season. However if you are travelling offseason and swimming in the lake is not necessarily a priority, I suggest you shop around if you can't get one of the new rooms!

We stayed a few days in Hotel Alemannenhof on half board basis.Breakfast is great - excellent quality and wide variety - good service even though often a lot of people ...Dinner was mixed feeling - quality of food is good although very sweet. For €50 per person one could expect a bit finer prepared food. Service during dinner seemed to struggle a bit, although always friendly and helpful - but sometimes it took a long time before food and drinks were served.

I stayed in the hotel and ate there twice but have to say that although the food was nice, the menu was narrow and if I'm honest over priced you can get much better in the centre for you money

The menu was very nice, the staff very friendly, the quality of the food excellent (the cook chose orange as a companion to all dishes)!
