Abstractions Cafe

I love this restaurant. The focaccia are so delicious I would find myself thinking about them long before lunch! Half a sandwich (and yummy pasta salad for a side) is more than enough for a full meal, though I tend to order the whole sandwich because I cannot get enough and it rarely makes it to the end of the day. Quaint restaurant, very pleasant service, my only complaint is that the hours can be unreliable. There have been a few times I have gone only to find out that they are just not open that day. I try to be understanding as it is a family owned and operated business, but dammit it is just so disappointing to have a craving unfulfilled!

I can't praise the strawberry milkshake cocktail strongly enough! Some may complain at the price,but let me just say this: it's worth every cent. The drink surpassed Fat Burger milkshakes, and they do a mean shake. I also had a grilled chicken panini with a side pasta salad, all very tasty. Just one little thing that is the same with a lot of other Canadian dining, mozza cheese is not the bee's knees. But in the case of Abstractions only a minor thing. I can't wait to go back and have dessert and another strawberry milkshake cocktail!

We moved mom into an apartment close by Abstractions. I have been here several times in the past...a few years back.We decided to stop again .. and definitely remembered why we came here before. The meals were the best!!!Focacia sandwiches were awesome with the pasta salad which is the best. I always take the focaccia sandwiches, really really good. Their pasta salad is also awesome! I tried once their wrap and they are great as well but since I have a good appetite, was not enough for me! Would recommend for anyone who likes this kind of food. And what about that great family that runs it! They make you feel like you are part of it!

Family run and wonderfully homey! Good coffee, good food, good service, always with a smile, and a wonderful patio, if you want to sit outside and read.
