"Location General The Karolinger Hof is located directly opposite Lorsch Train Station. This has been carried out since 28.01.2013 by the Caritasverband Darmstadt e.V. A special project has been developed. In the house, a training establishment is set up to enable disadvantaged people to have a chance of work – disabled people; Hartz IV recipients or young people without jobs. Work by measure. Everyone is employed and trained according to its inclinations and potentials. Ambiente The renovation works of the Karolinger Hof were considerable. The house was developed by its own craftsmanship, which at the same time imparts long-term unemployed to the regular labour market. The very large guest room for approx. 70 people can be divided or used for weddings and major celebrations. As curtains are missing at the windows – the room is light-filled and bright. Dark wooden tables, parquet flooring, light brown high-back leather chairs, two light green revolving leather benches, on the tables light brown runners, dark brown thick napkins and as color cup red tulips in a small vase give the right frame for a good food. There is also a small seminar room in the colours orange and brown and a kitchen bar area in violet. Accents were cleverly set with different colors. Service A fresh warm service. Smiling greets the service you feel immediately welcome. The operation is very quiet and still somewhat timid but very attentive and reliable. Both the drinks and the food are very fixed. A lunch table from 11:00 – 14:00 is served daily. Only fresh goods are processed in good bourgeois cuisine. The daily ticket is very clear with 1 soup, 4 main dishes and a dessert. We chose from the small card the vegetable pea stew with two Frankfurt sausages (5.40€ and the Szegedin Gulasch (7.90€). The vegetable soup could have been a bit warmer, but it was very good and the portion sufficient. The pork and beef in the Szegediner-Gulasch was wonderfully tender and the attached potatoes rich. Through a small peperoni, it got a slight sharpening. We then glowed the dessert. There was a glass with a berry fruit cream (2,00€). Conclusion: The concept and the idea of making a training company from the Karolinger Hof and offering the guests a good kitchen is super successful – happy again"
