You know what you get with this place. It is a down-to-earth, friendly establishment that offers good food and decent drinks at reasonable prices.This latest visit was on the outside a Saturday teatime and it was packed! Just about every indoor and outdoor table was taken but a member of staff helped us to get seated. This was typical of the great service we have always had here.Try and get an outside table if you can as the views are fantastic. Here you can see all the historic architecture around the town Hall Square and there’s always something to watch going on around the area.
Popped in for pre dinner drinks. Staff were very stretched and testy. Despite wearing masks we got told off for not waiting to be seated! Not our fault no one on the door Once we had sorted that we tried to order some cocktails but were told they were all off as they were missing a lot of ingredientsChatting to our bar tender he advised it was a nightmare with staff shortages and all those working having to cover extra shifts and we understood our frosty receptionPlace was quite busy but should have been busier but only if it’s properly staffed and managedDisappointing!!!
that was the first time that my brother was ever in some. So we just walked around and came over this place. it looked friendly enough and the tables were in the sun, so we decided to stop there. I had the dutton’s special burge, my brother had the fish and chips, and between us we had some of the most craft camps and some pale ale. both exquisite cute beer that eating was good. classic bar with a large decoration both inside and outside. it's cool to have a barrel for a table. they make their own beer so kudos for it. it is always good to try something authentic and different big wiskey, by the way!
great place to meet friends. good food and beer available. ideal place to begin their night or afternoon when they are sharp. great personal and beautiful atmosphere. probably better to book a table when they want to eat.
stopped by coffee waiting for sightseeing bus and came back to dinner. friendly staff and very clean. the cook even apologised for the part of the fish served, and only partly calculated for a “small”. I am in town for the week and will be definitiw back.
