The room where we sat was not very good maintained and it looked more like a youth club/bar than a restaurant. We ordered fish and chips x 3, and when I came to 50 I stopped counting bones… The peas were hard and the experience was among the worst I have had on a hotel restaurant. The places to eat in Fionnphort are much better if you want a good meal.

We booked here for the first night of our stay of a half term trip . The hotel is set high above the town and accessed by a narrow twisty road, and only have limited parking. Although it was dark, the harbour looked lovely lit up at night and I am sure that during the day the view would be stunning. We were warmly welcomed by staff and took our seat at a table in restaurant situated in a large conservatory on the side of the hotel. It was warm and bright, great music selection being played and had a lovely atmosphere . There was a wide menu choice and a selection of specials. They also offered a selection of gin cocktails featuring local gin, which are highly recommended. The meals were well cooked great tasting and looked great on the plate. We enjoyed our meal so much we re- booked again for our last night , and although it was a similar menu just different specials) but we had the opinion there was a different chef on duty. The taste wasn't so good and meals did not look so elegant on the plate. Also on several of the dishes odd things listed on the plate weren't there or had been changed. It almost seemed that they had run out of supplies or maybe that the hotel was at the end of the season and using up stock. the meal was ok but it would have been nice if staff had apologized that the ingredients weren't available and what had been replaced, especially if people had allergies. It was still a nice meal and would recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting Mull especially later in the year when eating choices are limited.

Had chicken curry Very watery curry sauce. Lacked flavour. Undercooked onions just raw.Used to be so good. Shame.

Incredibly rude, bought a cake and asked to use the bathroom and was dealt with by an incredibly condescending manager wanna be, arguing my face covering wasn't acceptable. (law stated sufficient face covering of nose and mouth or mask Instead of offering me an alternative to this she decided to just continue to be an offence to hospitality staff around the world. I work in hospitality and have never felt so talked down to and belittled. They have staff shortages at the moment, wouldn't surprise me if it was because no one can work with her. Seriously, find a new occupation and check the law that you so love to recite.

In great cities you expect to be able to find a first class restaurant. In remote wilderness areas you'd probably not have that expectation, which is why the Inn is so exceptional. The effortless cordiality that David dispenses at front of house is matched by superb food from Clare's kitchen. Add a sensibly-priced wine list and quietly effective wait staff and you have a memorable experience.
