Me and my partner were enjoying a lovely day down the port when my partner needed a toilet so we walked to the public toilets but they were locked and the only other place open was the Adelphi vaults so my partner who is disabled with a feeding tube where every so often she has to empty it a bit to stop her feeling nauseous as she walked in she was greeted by a smiling gentleman behind the bar she continued to the toilet while bursting as she came out she was stopped by the same man this time he wasn 't smiling in fact he was angry at the fact she had gone to the toilet she had explained that she was bursting and that she has a feeding tube and that she had nowhere else she could 've emptied it other than the street he got even more angrier and then said that she doesn 't do that in a toilet my partner was made to feel disgusted and embarrassed as there were customers having food and drinks we were going to have drinks but after that we decided to leave and since then haven 't returned due to the lack of consideration for customers
I’m a local and was on a walk that I do often but needed to empty my stomach to stop me from vomiting, I empty my stomach through my feeding tube into the toilet and no other toilets were available so I went into the Adelphi Vaults to use the bathroom which I’ve done plenty of times before. After I’d used the bathroom I got confronted rudely by the owner. After I explained the situation he told me that it’s something you don’t do in the toilet. He was trying to stop me from leaving by putting his arms out. The pub was full and I had 2 minors with me who were scared after the confrontation. I was made to feel like emptying my stomach was disgusting and I was humiliated in front of many people including other locals.
Open mic night last night, we are staying in Amlych Port, after a family Paddleboarding lesson, it was a night having a drink. 8.30 food had stopped, but landlord said, get a chippy take away and eat in pub. Such a great spirit in the Port for the businesses. Drinks were very reasonably and questioned many times that we were not charged enough. Amber the pub’s dog, snuggled up without bothering us and the locals were all so welcoming. Highly recommended
We chose this after a long day walking, nice atmosphere, staff friendly. They have a very good choice of beer /ales. We decided to eat there and the menu of speciality pies was the options. My wife is a coeliac, so to have gluten free options and gravy was definitely a big plus for eating here. Good portions sizes and most of all very tasty. (we are Wiganers we know about pies !! A must if visiting the town, great beer and food...highly recommended.
