I was given directions for the “weaving shed” but discovered it was now under new management and called “VMs” presumably because it was in the middle of a converted Victoria Mill complex. The surroundings were very new and looked chiq, and contrasted well with the...old mill. The restaurant, similarly, looked to have had a makeover. The tables were made of reclaimed timber and the legs from painted scaffolding tubing, but the seats were far too low unless you were an average of The owners had obviously recognised there was a problem because there was an additional cushion on each seat. Nevertheless it felt like you were like a child sitting at a table that was too high. We attending at about on a Tuesday, the place wasn’t busy with only a few tables occupied. The waiter was very courteous but sadly inexperienced. He had to check which beers were available, he would have missed out one of our orders had we not reminded him, he forgot to bring the water we requested, he got the starter order wrong, we ordered grilled halloumi but we got battered (there was a choice of either). Additionally we noticed that people who came after us got their meal before us. My lasagne was good p, my two other guests who had the same also said similarly. My wife had fish and chips which she said was dry. There was only one dessert on offer a fudge cake which none of us fancied. We all had fresh tea served in teapots which was good. When we came to pay there was no itemised bill, the printer had apparently broken, however they could have used pen and paper. All in all it was a bit disappointing, I can only assume that the new management were finding their feet, but things need to be slicker if they are to attract more custom.

absolutely brilliant family / tea friendly pub! fantastic atmosphere and very secret! the employees are always happy and smiling, do not really know the renter, but they seem like a beautiful lady, always like to help! stop the Fab work, in any case my local will!

a real shame that this is closed, only to be replaced by a mill curry space. I tried every Caribbean place in bradford and the curry goat from here was the best. all good for the future.
