La Mafia - Table reservation

We arrived very early in the restaurant, so my two sisters and I were the first guests. Juan greeted us with a brilliant smile. The restaurant was not busy yet, so his attention focused on us. We had so much fun sharing jokes during our wine. We were first served with bread and olives while we waited for the kitchen to be ready. As I said, we arrived very early. Anyway, Algeciras is not your typical tourist place. So we were the only tourists at this time, and being with the local guests was an amazing experience. Restaurant la Carboneria is small but served delish foods. Your tapas were one of a kind that we ordered was excellent. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I recommend you to dine in the restaurant la Carboneria if you happen to visit Algeciras.

Not bad for my first meal experience in Spain.... I tried the smothered eggs and very much enjoyed the meal. Our own difficulties in explaining what we wanted to the server were resolved with her help. She found us a very passable red wine so we had another glass. I forgot to take a photo of my food until after I had already eaten a few bites..... SORRY! But a good experience overall!

Surprisingly delicious Italian food in a Spanish city! Believe it or not, I was getting sick of tapas and wanting something familiar yet different.

Large selection of tapas (ignore English menu that was not most information) that was delicious. House red was great. Great value for money.

Great calzone and carbonara. You have to experience this... Recommended!!!
