Harvey's Combo Restaurant

Ah Harvey's where to begin? Harvey's sent out a brochure full of coupons in the mail, so we decided to use one. That's where the problems started. We presented the coupon at the till and the staff member hits the button and gives us a price that's way too much, my husband questions her, but she can't do math in her head and dictates what the machine says. A second staff member arrives and after some hard thinking decides that maybe we are right and discovers the first person hit the wrong button......okay, that's settled!Our hamburgs arrive at the condiment station, but instead of serving us, the lady turns to the cook and declares 'my cousin is in the drive through' and they have a conversation, finally she turns to our burgs and oh so slowly starts to dress them, then stops before they are done to once again tell another member of the staff her 'cousins in the drive through'.This person could not have been slower if she tried. By the time we finally got our lunch it was barely warm............one day I hope to be smart enough to realize that Harvey's is not the place for hot food and good service.

We are Harvey's regulars, so this last visit totally surprised us!Ever get cravings, I do! All I wanted was a Harvey's Hot Dog. Everyone knows how good they are, but not this time.Where to start, we ordered our hot dogs and proceeded to the toppings, mustard, relish, onions, lettuce, two tomato's and three of those scrumptious dill pickles, no peppers in site.........heaven in a bun, so we thought!To start with the bun was COLD, a plain bun, not toasted. The wiener was barely warm, and definitely did not have the crispy crust on it we've come to expect, and did I mention it was very thin and not the quality of the all beef wieners we were used to.Harvey's always skimps on toppings, so we ordered double toppings. Forget the yummy dill pickles, the ones now are flavorless, much like eating a cucumber.What a disappointment, from now on I'll ignore my cravings for the ' best hot dog around', it's not available anymore.

We went for dinner in the Swiss Chalet side. It was typical food, nothing amazing but tasted good, as expected of a chain restaurant. The service was fast and friendly. We sat in a booth and the only real complaint I have is that the sun was directly shining in my eyes. The waitress sympathized but they have no blinds to block out the sun. It took away from the overall experience for sure. Hopefully they invest in some form of sun protection soon.

Food is good but the drive-thru is really slow no matter the time you go. McDonalds down the road has double the drive-thru traffic and its line keeps moving.

Food as expected, prompt attentive staff...waitress gave extra attention to our grandkids...much appreciated
