One of the worst pub meals I’ve ever had. Ordered two classic 6 oz burgers. When it arrived the chips were almost cold as were the burgers and the burgers were awful, dry tasteless lumps of cardboard. No sauce on them to moisten them and if I hadn’t had a soft drink to wash them down I wouldn’t have been able to eat them at all. My friend and I had travelled up to Aberdeen as a day out from Fife and we were really hungry by the time we got to Aberdeen as we’d gotten the slow bus to Aberdeen from Dundee by mistake. If I hadn’t been so hungry I’d have sent them back and ordered something else. Poor show Wetherspoons. I did make a complaint to a waiter and he said he’d pass it on and that was the end of the staff interest. Def will never go there again and it has also pretty much put me off Wetherspoons food altogether!

Had a perfect breakfast here while in a hurry and travelling to work. Truly a Scottish delight and they offered an alternative to the black pudding, so I chose a second tattie scone, after assuring myself this would not actually be a hash brown, which some other restaurants palm off as TSs. Absolutely no worries there! Thank you Wetherspoons. Two tattie scones arrived, soft and tasty as part of a beautifully-prepared breakfast platter. My request for the beans to be in a separate bowl was also met with a smile and I was truly touched by the level and quality of service, which matched the excellent food..

Haddock and chips advertised in their 'pub classics '. It was certainly unforgettable, a tiny wee thing burned to a crisp on the outside, consequently watery mush on the inside. I ate two bites and sent it back and a grumpy supervisor told me she had asked the kitchen to cook another half fish. I could have lived without it, it was only marginally less burned. Luke warm oven chips. With thermostatically controlled frying how can any commercial establishment make such a mess of things. Dirty tables, dirty floor and surly waiting staff. Bar staff fine and a good pint from the Orkney Brewery.

This JD Wetherspoons is housed in a former bank and named after the famous Aberdonian architect. The building is gorgeous but it is just a ‘Spoons at the end of the day.
